University of the West of Scotland International Week
We are very pleased to announce that University of the West of Scotland (UWS) will be hosting a one-week international study and familiarisation visit for non-academic colleagues within the framework of the Erasmus LLP. The programme is scheduled from Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June 2012.
UWS has been pleased to participate in a number of visits and exchanges with our European partners in recent years and we hope to provide our colleagues from participating Erasmus institutions with the opportunity to visit UWS’ Paisley Campus. The proposed programme will cover a number of topics, including:
• Student administration processes
• Research areas at UWS
• Student support in Higher Education
• Student employability
• Lifelong learning initiatives
• Internationalisation
The programme focuses on a number of topics and it is anticipated that participants will be able to tailor the visit to meet their own fields of interest. Possibilities include workshops led by UWS staff or focused visits to individual departments/schools or, potentially, other UWS campuses
We look forward to welcoming you to the University to provide you with an insight into our institution. There will, of course, also be an opportunitity to discover the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh and to experience the culture of Scotland.
Participants will be asked to finance their own travel, accommodation and expenses through the Erasmus programme and advice on hotels in the area can be offered. The University can also offer a special rate of £100 for 5 nights in the University-owned flats on campus, although places are subject to demand. There are no participation fees for the International Week.
Colleagues who are interested in attending should complete the International Week application form and return it to internationalweek@uws.ac.uk Equally, if you have any queries about the event please email them to us.
We would like to receive completed applications by Friday 24th February. Please provide an indication of your specific interest areas in order for us to begin the process of organising the session programme.
