Tutorial Plan (PATT)

 

The Tutorial Plan (PATT) of our Faculty is configured as a set of advisory and personalized tutoring activities aimed at the new students of the first year, so that they can organize their studies well, develop in the University in an autonomous way, to settle in their new environment and, finally, to take advantage of the possibilities that the University offers them. The COE also plans to extend the PATT for the other courses, adapting it to the different needs that are presented to the student throughout the career until graduating as a graduate in the labor market and even later, enriching the contribution that the University gives to the Society.

1. Who should I contact if I have questions about the PATT?

    To resolve any doubts about the PATT, it is advisable to contact the PATT Coordinator at the Faculty. At present, the PATT Coordinator is Professor Dª. Soledad Ruano López, Deputy Dean of Institutional Relations and Alumni .

    2. What activities are carried out in the PATT??

      The PATT is organized around a series of general briefings and individual follow-up sessions with the assigned tutor that are developed throughout the course, which provide documents, guidelines and information on the operation of the University and the Faculty. There are three types of sessions:

       

      • Large group sessions (GG). They are imparted jointly to all the students enrolled in the Plan, and are essentially informative sessions.
      • Small group sessions (GR). Training or follow-up sessions held by each tutor with his group of tutored students.
      • Individual sessions. They are made on demand of a student to deal with a specific issue or problem that require personalized attention.

       

      3. Is it compulsory to attend all activities?

      The enrollment in the PATT entails a series of commitments on the part of the students: they must attend at least 80% of the sessions held (including those of large group and small group). Justified faults should be properly documented. In this way they can obtain the corresponding certificate of participation in the PATT (valued in 2 ECTS credits).

      4. What should I do in the PATT?

      It is necessary to attend and participate actively in the sessions held (at least 80% of them) and to take advantage of the meetings completing the sheets, performing the tasks required and following the guidelines that the tutor marks in each session.

      5. How can I register for the PATT?

      Applications for enrollment in the Plan can be found in this section of the Faculty website (document models). In addition, they will be available at the Faculty Concierge during the enrollment period, which will start from the PATT dissemination day addressed to the students of the first course of all degrees, which will take place at the beginning of the course and will be announced in advance.

      Students interested in becoming part of the PATT must complete the application and deliver it in the concierge until the deadline announced on the day of presentation.

      Subsequently, each tutor will contact the students who are assigned to inform them of their membership in the group and summon them to the first contact session, which will take place approximately in the first two weeks of October. small groups.

      6. Is the PATT only for first year students?

      A PATT is also offered periodically for students of higher courses, in order to provide guidance on aspects related to national and international mobility programs, labor market, job placement and other topics of interest to students of the last courses. In this way, it enriches the contribution made by the University to society.

      7. What are the objectives of the PATT?

        The main objectives to be achieved with the PATT are the following:

         

        • To help the student in his incorporation to university life and fundamentally to the chosen degree.
        • Inform the existence and form of access to the different resources that the University of Extremadura makes available to its students to meet their training and other needs.
        • To facilitate the academic formation of the student.
        • Work with the student transversal aspects of his training and his values.
        • Increase the competitiveness of degrees.
        • Strengthen the teacher-student relationship.
        • Orient the student in the planning of his studies.
        • Inform about possible career opportunities.
        • Facilitate the integration of students with special needs and circumstances, with special attention to disability.
        • Promote activities and events around the degree.
