Job opportunities

The University Master of Research (MUI) allows the student to start in the world of Research.  Through contact with professional researchers, the student will make contact with one of the research lines that are being developed at the University of Extremadura, the results obtained in the last years, and international recognition that these results have merited.

The student will thus be able to know the most advanced techniques in the specific fields developed in the MUI, to evaluate and use the necessary tools to develop the research and to connect with networks of researchers who work internationally in common areas.

The research work that the student must develop during the course allows him to know technologies and tools for experimentation, documentation and presentation of results, and to attend scientific events: national and international congresses in which the research results are presented and discussed.

The MUI enables the student to develop new research papers.  A student who completes his/her Master's Degree in Research may join RID Departments in companies, research centres or continue, if he/she so prefers, PhD studies in any University, Spanish or foreign.

In the last decade, the University Centre of Merida has educated researchers who are currently developing their work in universities and companies of national and international scope.  Some researchers who studied at the University Centre of Merida are currently working in Spanish universities (University of Seville), and European universities (Leiria Polytechnic Institute), and European Centres (Centre for Citizens' Cyberspace), for example.

The University Centre of Merida has received students who come to make temporary stays and complete their research training and interact with local students, allowing an international training environment.  Thus, in recent years, students from Spanish Universities (University of Granada, Complutense of Madrid ...) and Research Centres (Ciemat), as well as international students (Ensenada Centre for Scientific Research and Higher Education, and the Autonomous University Metropolina in Mexico, the Technological University of Panama, etc.).

In addition, researchers of recognised prestige have passed through the University Centre of Merida, coming from CERN, Switzerland, University of Birmingham, UK, INRIA, France, University of California in San Diego, USA, Intel, CICESE, Mexico, etc., and Spanish universities, including the University of the Basque Country, the Complutense University of Madrid, the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the University of Granada, the University of Malaga, etc.

The University Centre of Merida thus offers on the Merida Campus an optimal environment for the initiation to research through the University Research Master.
